Podge Lane releases new single “Live Forever” and announces Irish dates.
Reinforced and road-worn, Podge Lane returns with a slew of Irish dates and the release of his new single “Live Forever”, out now.
Following a whirlwind 12 months that saw Lane relocate to the US, perform over 150 shows, and release his fourth studio album “Less Of Me”, to praise from RTE, Soundstage Zine and The Irish Examiner, the Cork native shifts gears with an understated folk ballad that captures the stillness of lasting love.
Written during the recording sessions for Less Of Me in Manhattan, “Live Forever” strips Lane back to essential storytelling and warm relatability. Taking inspiration from the likes of James Taylor and Norah Jones, Podge lets upright piano and sparse percussion lift his weathered vocals so that the lyrics can take centre stage:
“Good trees are for climbing
Nothing new or exciting”
The single accompanies Lane’s first Irish dates in over a year, with stops in iconic venues like St Catherines Cultural Centre, Kinsale, Whelan’s Dublin supporting Samantha Crain as well as a hometown return to the Village Arts Centre, Kilworth.
With momentum building on both sides of the Atlantic, Lane continues to announce upcoming Irish tour dates before returning to New York in April. Pairing relentless touring with a keen sense of observant songwriting, there are no signs of any slow down from this troubadour.
Live Forever is out now on all streaming platforms. Tickets for the “Less Of Me Irish Tour” are available on Eventbrite and www.podgelane.com.
